This whimsical and intricately detailed micro-crochet jellyfish ocean scene inside a miniature metal tin will make you smile each time you take a peek, and it comes with a display stand!

Crocheted with a 0.5 mm hook and thread, the tiny jellyish stick magnetically to their ocean-themed habitat and can be taken out to admire the microscopic details! Although many of my magnetic pieces that come in pairs will "kiss," this couple's polar alignment is non-traditional, so they side hug instead :)

The miniature metal tin is filled with unbelievably small details including hand-stitched seaweed, kelp, and lavender flowers, along with crystal chips, seashells, clay flower details, mini grass tufts, and moss to create a natural and realistic effect.

Please note that this is intended to be displayed on the included plastic stand and does not include a tin cover. My art is intended for mature collectors and is not safe for kids because the tiny magnets are dangerous if ingested and the glass components are fragile- please be mindful!

RESISTins Project -

The jellyfish couple keeps sprigs of lavender as a reminder of their special bond which gives them safety and comfort when currents are harsh. They are named in honor of Guthrie McClintic and Katharine Cornell, a gay man and lesbian woman who were married for decades during a time in US history before same-sex marriage was legalized.

Because of progress, LGBT+ people can express ourselves openly today, and this artwork remembers the comfort queer people provided to each other when we were not as socially accepted and sometimes sought refuge in lavender marriages to help avoid oppression and stigma.

I also support all healthy relationship structures and wanted to upflift the aromantic, asexual, polysexual, and related communities by representing a platonic marriage in this artwork.

This item is part of my RESISTins collection and your purchase allows me to donate $10 to The Trevor Project, a non-profit serving the LGBTQIA+ community - learn more at https://www.thetrevorproject.org/. Thanks for your support!
